Take Action for Ontario Nature and Agriculture!

The province is seeking input from everyone including charities, individuals, families, businesses, and communities on what they want to see in the 2024 budget. Budget consultations are a critical time to provide recommendations about community and sector priorities. It’s a time to highlight that land trusts are key players in supporting the province’s priorities and to encourage the Government of Ontario to Invest More in Nature.

Ontario Land Trust Alliance (OLTA) and Nature Conservancy of Canada are asking the Government of Ontario to support community land protection efforts by investing $25 million each year over 4 years to support a renewal and growth of the Greenlands Conservation Partnership (GCP). A renewal of this program would support community based land protection and stewardship, increase our impact, and conserve more connected natural spaces. Visit the OLTA action alert page to learn more about the impact GCP has made to provincial and local land trusts over the past 4 years! As a member of OLTA, the Ontario Farmland Trust is encouraging members and supporters to take action.
