Legacy Giving

Join a community of givers who are making farmland protection part of their lasting legacy. There are several ways to leave a legacy gift to the Ontario Farmland Trust.

A Gift in Your Will: Leaving a set dollar amount, a gift of securities, a named percentage or portion of your estate, or a named percentage or portion of the residue of your estate to the Ontario Farmland Trust will ensure that Ontario farmland continues to be protected for all future generations.

Non-Cash Assets: Donating farmland, real estate, or other non-cash assets can provide tax benefits for your estate while ensuring that Ontario farmland is protected forever.

Beneficiary Designations: Your retirement plans, life insurance policies, and annuities can all help to ensure that Ontario’s agricultural lands are protected for the future.

Every legacy gift is an important and personal matter. It is important that you discuss your intentions with your family and receive advice from your lawyer and financial advisor.

Please contact us for more information, and to let us know if you have left a charitable bequest in your will, so that we can thank you and ensure that your gift will be used the way you have intended.
