AGM 2014 Highlights

On Thursday July 10th, OFT gathered for their 2014 Annual General Meeting. Gathering at one of Guelph’s most treasured sites —- the Ignatius Jesuit Centre and Farm— OFT celebrated its hard work and accomplishments over the past year, including the securement of another 150 acres of farmland, with the donation of an agricultural easement on Little Rock Farm. OFT also welcomed new board member Dave Copeland, who brings his strong business background to the board.  OFT continues to have strong continuity within its Board, with members staying on for a second or third term, as well as retiring members, Peter Mitchell, Carolyn Young, and Bonnie Littley, continuing to support OFT on committees. Teamwork, strategic direction, and the new Farmland Forever campaign was celebrated with a sampling of Executive Director Matt Setzkorn’s handcrafted fruit wine alongside a fresh, locally-sourced lunch. To wrap up the day, Stas Shulist, OFT Board Member and Land Manager at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre, delivered an informative presentation on the Centre’s history and current work  fostering community and caring for the land including the Old Growth Forest project.
