Thank you for attending our Earth Day Farm Tours!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Earth Day farm tours in Prince Edward County. Celebrations like these are always more meaningful when shared.

Together with the landowners, we explored two newly protected properties, the Ackerman and Bazzet-Jones farms, and reflected on why farmland protection matters for both food production and the health of our environment and communities.

Protected farms play a vital role in supporting biodiversity, providing habitat for species at risk that depend on agricultural landscapes and their natural features, including grasslands, hedgerows, wetlands, and riparian areas. From birds like the Bobolink and Eastern Meadowlark to pollinators and other wildlife, these working landscapes are essential in connecting conservation and agriculture.
