OFT advocates for reinstatement of DRAP easements, recommends becoming easement holder

Recently, OFT put forward a recommendation regarding the proposed “New Act regarding the Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve easements and covenants”. OFT applauds the efforts to reinstate the conservation easements through a new act that will protect this vital part of Ontario’s farmland. The proposed legislation is intended to restore the easements and covenants on the lands in the Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve. OFT’s submission recommends the holder of the DRAP conservation easement agreements be assigned to our organization for the ongoing protection and monitoring of these lands.
