Over the past three years, Ontario Farmland Trust, and National Farmers Union—Ontario have hosted several series of Land-Linking and Farmland Conservation Workshops to help strengthen farm communities through succession planning and education.
On March 3rd, we wrapped up our last Land-Linking and Farmland Conservation Workshop of our final series. The final series was particularly well received as we were able to build relationships with our audience over time and better understand the specific needs of farmers and others interested in agriculture. Through these workshops, we have helped new farmers navigate how to access land, create business plans, apply for grants, and connect with resources that will assist them in their journeys.
Thank you to everyone who attended! We hope the information we provided was helpful towards the success of your farming endeavours.
Thank you to our speakers from this last series including Aliyah Fraser (Lucky Bug Farm), Luke Sheldrick (Terramor Farm), Celeste Lopreiato & Simone Weinstein (The Conscious Kitchen), Ryan Spence (Field Good Farms), Heather Syposz (Agricola Cooperative Farm), Chadwick Lewis (Urban Fresh Produce), Marshall Buchanan (Moonlight Crofters Farm), and Semir Abdulr. Through sharing your personal experiences and honest advice, you have helped inspire many others in the agricultural community.
Thank you to the Greenbelt Foundation for your support in making these workshops possible!
Overall, the Land-Linking and Farmland Conservation workshops were a great success, and we hope to continue providing ongoing support through future projects and educational opportunities.
