It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s time for winter apple baking!
There’s simply no better way to kick off the holiday season than by cozying up with a cup of homemade apple cider in your hands and watching the snow fall. Especially when that cider is made from apples grown right here in Ontario!
Right now is the perfect time to support Ontario farmers and load up on apples picked during the fall harvest. Not only are apples a delicious snack on their own, but they can be used in so many ways to enjoy over the holidays. Homemade apple cider, pies, crumbles, jams and jellies will keep you peeling and chopping in the kitchen with the family for hours.
Did you know that in 2019, there were approximately 14,000 acres of farmland in apple production in Ontario? (1)
As we bake and taste our delicious treats, and make memories with our families, we thank the farmers and farmland for providing us with the opportunity to come together in the kitchen. In the kitchen, we can create moments of togetherness during the holiday season. Moments that feed our body and soul.
