2017 AGM a Success

The 2017 Annual General Meeting was a success, all thanks to Ontario Farmland Trust’s supporters, staff, and dedicated board members, along with the hospitality of the rare Charitable Research Reserve.

The event began with our formal Annual General Meeting which was lead by several board members. Our Chair, Norman Ragetlie, celebrated his last meeting with Ontario Farmland Trust. He retired from the Board after over 7 years of dedicated service.

It was a great day for a tour of rare’s beautiful property. Our first stop was at the Food Bank Garden where we learned how volunteer gardeners grow vegetables and fruit for Food Bank programs in Cambridge and Waterloo. In this garden we saw many crops including kale, heirloom tomatoes, and garlic. Next, we moved onto the Springbank Community Garden, where anyone can rent a plot and try their hand at gardening. We saw many different techniques at use such as using wine bottles to water crops.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our AGM. We appreciate your support and devoted interest in protecting Ontario’s farmland.
